Job Summary
Provides technical support by doing various analysis, computations, utilizing computers and AutoCAD software as well as perform precise measuring operations using survey instruments, for the preparation of land descriptions, drawings, and sketches that will be used in securing rights to place company facilities on private and public lands.
Essential Functions
- Collects and inputs field data into electronic job folders.
- Interprets deeds, maps, field notes, etc. to insure proper location of boundaries and/or company facilities.
- Analyzes electronic data and performs mathematical adjustments.
- Determines boundary easement location between private and company ownerships.
- Perpares maps, sketches, plats and metes & bounds descriptions of company interests.
- Prepares legal reports, maps and plats for architecture, engineering, enviromental, legal and service consultants.
- Creates, updates, and maintains company easement and property rights on maps and GIS system.
- Delineates routes, areas, and sites for fee and easement acquisitions which supports gas operations
- Perform field measurements as part of a survey crew as required.
Education Description
- Requires a high school diploma or a G.E.D. providing the equivalent knowledge of English, basic mathematics, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Requires mastery of basic surveying and/or engineering mathematics (including algebra, geometry and trigonometry) through college coursework or experience.
Experience
- Requires a minimum of two (2) years’ experience plotting deed descriptions and performing boundary analysis in a survey/CAD/GIS application such as Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access, Autodesk application, MicroStation, ArcGIS, etc.
Additional Qualifications
- Able to provide a valid Texas Department of Transportation driver's license, present and maintain a safe driving record and to operate motor vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies
- Able to demonstrate and apply proficient skill with:
- AutoCAD and coordinate geometry software to produce scaled drawings
- ArcMap GIS software, field GPS and data collection devices
- Processing field data using Trimble Business Center
- Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Basic knowledge of legal principals of real estate and land boundary law
- Able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
- Able to demonstrate strong personal effectiveness skills including integrity and trust, problem solving, decision-making, and results orientation.
- Able to adapt quickly to changing demands and to demonstrate flexibility in the face of change or uncertainty.
- Able to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Able to interface with all levels of company personnel, contractors and peers
