Job Summary
Identify, develop, and maintain key commercial business-to-business customers (trade allies) relationships within the gas product supply/sales chain. Leverage relationships with trade allies such as dealers, contractors, and distributors to maximize CenterPoint Energy corporate goals and guidelines related to sales and energy efficiency offerings. Conduct all activities necessary to assist in the project management and advacment of large projects, including the utility energy service contract (UESC) goverment projects. Assists the group in the economic development efforts and strategies.
Essential Functions
- Initiate, develop and maintain a vertically aligned network of key business-to-business (trade allies) customers, relationships and strategic alliances within the gas equipment product supply chain made up of distributors, dealers, and contractors to grow the use of high efficiency gas equipment in new construction and replacement markets.
- Effectively manage trade ally relationships with the senior levels in those companies to manage and maintain relationships to promote energy efficiency programs.
- Effectively promote the value of natural gas and energy efficiency programs through sales calls and visits to educate and present the energy efficiency programs in order to meet the Company’s goals and initiatives.
- Negotiate trade agreements/commitments with key client companies, ensuring that the needs of both the company and the customers are met amicably.
- Coordinate with trade allies to address the end use customers’ needs related to our programs.
- Support in the development and implementation of the strategic marketing plans to promote energy efficiency offerings through various trade shows and associations such as HVAC dealers and contractors, distributors, facility management groups, and commercial and industrial economic development organizations.
- Participates and presents at various professional and trade organizations to build and maintain relationships with key customers.
- Supports the management in the preparation of multiple sales and energy efficiency reports and filings and is responsible for providing all necessary program documentation in a manner that is clear, concise, and complete and is conducive to favorable approval from regulatory agencies with minimal request for additional information ensuring that all information provided to the regulatory department is supportable.
- Enhance the visibility of the Company and its programs while building market knowledge and expertise. Exhibit desirable and appropriate behavior including integrity, teamwork, positive attitude, intelligence, creativity, industriousness, leadership, sense of urgency, and independent judgment.
- Support the UESC project team efforts through the contract review process and advacment with internal stakeholders, customers, and the Energy Service Company (ESCO) trade ally partners.
- Weekly calls, tracking, and coordination of the construction process for UESC projects.
- Work with energy solutions and business development managers to identify and seek new growth and economic development opportunities.
Education Description
- Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or engineering from an accredited college or university, OR a combination of education or experience providing equivalent knowledge, such as two years of college and four years of experience.
Experience
- Requires a minimum of three years of experience in a sales or marketing capacity, OR equivalent energy industry related experience.

Compensation: $74,596.80 to $111,895.20 Annually
CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity. This annual compensation range is specific to Minnesota and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
