Job Summary

Optimizes margin opportunities with new and existing customers in target markets where customer base includes small, medium and large industrial, commercial and institutional customers.  Build relationships with key trade partners (general contractors, builders, developers) to maximize the use of natural gas equipment in new construction.

Essential Functions

  • Support in the development and implementation of the strategic business plans to promote the use of natural gas in new construction
  • Effectively promote the value of natural gas and energy efficiency programs through sales calls and visits to educate and present the energy efficiency programs in order to meet the Company’s goals and initiatives.
  • Identifies and qualifies sales prospects, makes effective presentations and closes sales within an acceptable time frame, including through various trade shows and associations such as builders and developers, Manages the on-going business relationships with assigned customer base by maintaining regular contact, promoting incremental products and services, resolving customer issues, negotiating creative customer solutions and renewing expiring contracts.
  • Supports the internal service delivery system by working cooperatively and effectively with all members of the service delivery team and ensuring all necessary documents required are complete and accurate
  • Seeks and recommends new products and services proactively, to increase profitability of existing and new customers.
  • Advocating for customers with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Communicates effectively with customers on an on-going basis.
  • Ability to interrupt civil, architectural and environmental plans to determine safe meter locations.

Education Description

Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or engineering from an accredited college or university, OR a combination of education and experience to provide equivalent knowledge.

Experience

1-3 years work experience is required.

Business consultative sales and marketing experience is essential with a strong understanding of Energy Sales and new construction development is desirable.
