Job Summary:

Technical Training Coordinator will provide the Technical Training Department in Energy Delivery with material preparation, planning, scheduling and the communication of training. The coordinator will oversee the Gas & Electric Apprenticeship Program to ensure proper progression and completion is met

Essential Functions:

  • Develops or oversees the development of training curricula; formulates or reviews training outlines.
  • Assists with training material preparation, including presentations, tests, forms, visual aids, etc.
  • Works closely with the Training & Development Consultant, Technical Training Manager and Field
  • Operations Management to identify training requirements within Energy Delivery for individual
  • employees and job titles (minimum standards).
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to
  • revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Offers evaluation and assessment tools for all course attendees and provides feedback to Management
  • on needs of individuals as identified via training sessions.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to Technical Training personnel, in accordance with specified training
  • programs.
  • Provides CNP Managers and Teams with support on issues relating to any training activities.
  • Identifies training items that need to be completed and work to resolve the training and/or
  • documentation needs.
  • Provides feedback and suggestions on process improvements to the Training & Development Consultant.
  • Provides input and assists in the planning, assessment, and implementation of organizational goals and
  • objectives, in line with overall company standards and procedures.
  • Participates in the sourcing, selection, and evaluation of contracted instructors and consultants, as
  • appropriate.
  • Manages the relationship with any third-party training vendors at the discretion of the Technical Training
  • Manager. Monitors individuals’ training records to ensure timely completion.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education Description:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (will consider relevant job-related CenterPoint Energy experience for non-degree candidates)

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in coordinating, office management, managing organizational processes, or curriculum development. Experience in energy delivery, energy production, or similar field conducting administrative tasks field will suffice.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate and apply manual dexterity to operate a personal computer or laptop.
  • Able to view monitor or screen for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a personal computer or laptop and other office equipment, such as multi-line telephone, speaker phone, photocopier, facsimile machine, calculator and scanner.
  • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time and walk, bend, stoop, squat and/or kneel for filing occasionally.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • Able to bend at waist, stoop, crouch, kneel, squat, stand, walk, finger, handle, carry, lift, pull, push and reach.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to obtain discipline related certification(s) in training and/or utility safety within 12 and up to 24 months
  • Able to work in an office environment with moderate pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work overtime (scheduled and unscheduled), including reporting early, skipping lunch and/or working late, as needed to meet established deadlines.
  • Able to travel occasionally to other work locations, meetings or for training, very infrequently overnight.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and with many deadlines, schedules and timelines.
  • Able to work either alone and/or at locations other than normal work location.
  • Able to be highly dependable and reliable, including punctual and regular attendance.
  • May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.

Compensation: $69,550.40 to $104,325.60 Annually
CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity. This annual compensation range is specific to Minnesota and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
