Summary:
Acts as a first-line point of contact for existing industrial and commercial customers who wish to add load to their existing meter, or add a new meter where a service line already exists. Plays a key role in delivering a high quality customer experience affecting the Company's perception by its customers and the public in general and impacts the ability for growth. Influences the customer to take part in our ECO programs and encourages the use of high efficiency gas equipment or audit programs to help the customer save energy. 


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:    

•    Handles all Commercial meter LOAD increases, new commercial meter additions, or commercial projects that incure increased growth for CenterPoint Energy.
•    Effectively promote the value of natural gas and energy efficiency programs with customers and present the energy efficiency programs in order to support the Company’s goals and initiatives.
•    Receives, analyzes, interprets, verifies the accuracy and completeness of scope of work and other related documentation.
•    Regularly contacts customers to clarify and obtain pertinent information to support the process
•    Determines customer gas loads and metering requirements. Verifies equipment type, size, and location; review facilities for compliance with CNP standards. 
•    Ability to interrupt civil, architectural and environmental plans to determine safe meter locations. 
•    Calculates Allowable Investments for increased load or margin and communicates at times estimates to customers for any contribution required for new service installation, service resize, meter alterations and service relocation for increase loads. 
•    Coordinate with Gas Supply and Engineering to determine availability or requirements for increases.
•    Evaluates GIS and may make requests for Land Base updates to reflect new site plans or utility plans. 
•    Review compliance, construction and engineering documents with associated requests.
•    Maintain close relationship with Internal and external business partners, Sales, Engineering, Contract Services and Field Operation personnel.
•    Resolves customer concerns and handles all responsibilities in a professional manner.
•    Communicates effectively with customers on an on-going basis.


Education:    

  • Preferred associates degree or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or engineering from an accredited college or university, OR a combination of education and experience to provide equivalent knowledge. 

Experience:    

  • 2-3 years work experience is Natural Gas Field Preferred
  • Business consultative sales and marketing experience is essential with a strong understanding of Energy Sales and Technical knowledge of natural gas, design and the CNP process.

Compensation: $59,312.80 to $88,969.20 Annually
CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity. This annual compensation range is specific to Minnesota and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
