Summary:

Support the development and management of the fiscal year capital plan for Substation (HVO/S).  Includes month to month analysis on expense trends and adjusting reforecast needs as necessary.  In addition, support ad-hoc budget analysis as needed throughout the year.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage substation capital budget by tracking project costs and updates, reporting results to stakeholders in various monthly meetings, and forecasting based on meeting discussions
  • Monitor and report financial performance through various cost analysis exercises and implement strategies to improve performance, mitigate risks, and minimize variances
  • Identify and manage substation project risks & and "triggers" and suggest execution plans to ensure the organization stays on target
  • Support Substation Engineering Department annual budget needs by updating the project portfolio ranking tool with project/program entries
  • Identify year-end carryover costs in order to forecast for the following budget year
  • Work with various groups to develop long term plans across substation capital plan
  • Work closely with asset management to identify projects and costs to add or defer across various years to meet annual target spends in a five and ten-year plan
  • Work closely with Transmission Accounts team to provide detailed estimates by year for wind and solar interconnection projects based on projected energization dates for planning, budgeting, forecasting, and procurement purposes
  • Coordinate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and execution efforts for Internal projects with various stakeholders including Asset Management, Planning, Engineering, PMO, Construction, Operations, Civil, LROW, and Procurement teams.
  • Provide updates on substation programs and completed assets to senior and executive management

 

 

 

 

 

Education:

Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering from an accredited college or university. 

 

Experience:

Budget Analyst  – Requires minimum 4-year degree from college/university in business level degree.  Exposure to accounting, finance and budget administration.  Less than five years of work experience.    

 

Sr. Budget Analyst - Requires minimum 4-year degree from college/university in Business.  Exposure to accounting, finance and budget administration.  In addition, minimum five years of related experience. 

 

Lead Budget Analyst - Requires minimum 4-year degree from college/university in Business.  Exposure to accounting, finance and budget administration.  In addition, minimum 7 years of related experience.
