Job Summary

Serves as a survey crew member supporting and performing a wide variety of survey functions to determine the precise location of property boundaries and CNP facilities with the measurement of lines, area, contours, elevations, angles and points for a variety of purposes. Assists with recording and compiling data, notes and sketches to describe field work performed.

Essential Functions

• Works closely with the Party Chief to observe, review, and evaluate each job for safety, expectations, solutions, and problem solving. 
• Directs other members of the Survey Team to expedite each project by determining equipment, procedures, and safety issues each day. 
• Calculates survey positions using algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. 
• Operates Global Positioning Systems, Total Stations, Automatic and Digital Levels, and Chaining Measurements. 
• Determines data accuracy, anomalies, and corrections. 
• Transfers data through numerous electronic mediums. 
• Cares and maintains survey vehicle and equipment including daily cleaning and adjustment. 
• Drives survey vehicle to and from job sites. 

Education Description

• Requires a high school diploma or GED. 
• Requires Level I Certified Survey Technician (CST) Certification. 

Experience

• Requires two (2) years of experience on a survey crew, observing and recording all types of measurements with total stations, sub-surface locating devices, global positioning devices and standard surveying equipment.
