Job Summary
The Underground Residential Distribution (URD) Scheduler is responsible for providing support to Electric Operations to ensure URD work is submitted, prioritized, scheduled, and executed on time on a daily/weekly/ and monthly basis. Support the ongoing interaction with Distribution Operations, Service Consultants, Construction Coordinators and Contractors to ensure sites are ready for construction, and crews are scheduled to meet business needs. The URD Scheduler is responsible for analyzing assigned metrics for their work type and collaborate with the Scheduler to ensure CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric is assigning coordinating work orders and completing the necessary work on time. Provide support to the Operations Managers, Operations Supervisors, Construction Coordinators, internal and external construction crews, and Schedulers when needed.
Essential Functions
- Serve as program point of contact regarding efforts such as coordination, strategic planning, scope management, and analytics.
- Assist in developing and executing the communications plan for CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric in collaboration with the Senior Scheduler, Capital Support, and Outage and Impediments Specialists.
- Ability to work with design engineers, operations, and other stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of schedules and cost estimates, when needed.
- Develop and maintain status reports for work order completion timelines, cost estimates /budgets/ actuals , and material delivery.
- Schedule and facilitate team meetings with engineering, construction contractors, and other stakeholders, when needed.
- Provide updates on project schedules for management review.
- Collaborate with Materials Management to provide forecasted material needs based off currently assigned and planned work.
- Manage conflict that arises within the project team.
- Remain calm and flexible under pressure to align with the overall Company priorities.
Education Description
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Business Management, Project Management, Construction Management, Operations Management, or Construction Science.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years applicable work experience related to CenterPoint Energy Electric Operations Construction and/or Electric Distribution Operations support.
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of applicable work experience related to CenterPoint Energy Electric Operations Construction and/or Distribution Operations support will be considered.
