Job Summary

You will have the ability to lead cross-functional and departmental strategic initiatives through the project lifecycle including gathering requirements, planning, scheduling, monitoring, and overseeing execution of business projects through completion, value delivery, benefit realization and long-term sustainability review. The Sr Project Manager will work with key stakeholders across the business to develop charters that address proposed business requirements with varying budgets, timelines, and dependencies. They will manage multiple projects and optimize bandwidth to maximize value to the business. This will include innovation and continuous improvement efforts, including launching new products and services, application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process improvements and infrastructure upgrades and deployments. This individual may also provide guidance and coaching to other project managers and assist with overall department portfolio management.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the work of a team to achieve specific project goals and criteria within project constraints, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing high visibility projects.
  • Assist the business with development of project charter including scope, budget, deliverables and milestones, roles and responsibilities and value proposition. Assist the business with development of integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts.
  • Work collaboratively at an advanced level with business partners, business sponsors, project leads and matrixed IT partners to manage and oversee all phases throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters. Propose recommendations and adjustments when required.
  • Where needed, proactively manage changes in scope. Identify potential risks with corresponding contingencies and mitigations.
  • May facilitate the development and management of project budget, projected benefit, and financial impact forecasts, and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and other project expenditures to projections.
  • Develop communication plan to meet project objectives and ensure stakeholder awareness at all appropriate gates and critical decision points, in addition to regular updates.
  • Publish periodic project status and progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Leverage cross-functional relationships with the business and strategic partners for successful completion of project objectives.
  • Manage large-scale projects spanning multiple years with significant O&M and Capital Budgets with complex dependencies and competing objectives.
  • Leverage best practices and innovative skills and techniques in the field of project management for advanced-level project management and execution.
  • Manage time effectively to manage multiple initiatives with varying requirements simultaneously.
  • Work collaboratively with PMO team to improve current project management methodology, techniques and tools and help train other project managers and business partners.
  • May work in conjunction with other project managers to support complex projects and portfolios.

Education Description

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Master’s Degree a plus.

Experience

  • Requires 3-5 years of project management experience with cross functional team projects.

A bonus to have

  • PMP certification and agile experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Azure DevOps, MS Schedule (or equivalent)
  • Agile Certification
  • Utility (Elec/Gas), IT, Engineering Industry experience a plus
  • SAP Experience
