Job Summary

This position will perform field inspections of CenterPoint Energy’s (CNP) Transmission Right of Way facilities. This includes working with contractors to resolve issues, monitoring work performed in the Right of Way by other companies, and conducting analysis of CenterPoint Energy and third party documents relevant to Distribution construction or thrid party pipelines. 

A company‑provided commuter vehicle is assigned to this role to support job‑related responsibilities.

 

Essential Functions

  • Inspect and review new and/or existing facilities in CNP Right of Way
  • Creates work orders to provide and maintain access to CNP facilities in Right of Way.
  • Works with various companies and contractors to install third party facilities in CNP Right of Way.
  • Performs field inspections as needed for final project approval, customer installed facilities, and miscellaneous customer requests.
  • Review and approve engineering plans for third party infrastructure which is to be placed along or within CNP Right of Ways.
  • Work with internal departments (Land & Right of Way, Operations, Legal, etc) to develop action plans for various Right of Way scenarios.
  • Apply specific engineering experience and knowledge to project designs, problem solving and development of standards and material use.
  • Use technical engineering applications to generate documentation, work orders, and reports.
  • Gather, analyze and communicate technical information to internal and external entities in written and verbal form.
  • Read, interpret, summarize and develop industry codes, standards, technical manuals, documents and drawings.
  • Interface with other departments within the company and represent the company when working with various outside contractors.
  • Use SAP to enter, retrieve and analyze plan/actual data.
  • Sr. Asset Optimization Coordinator is expected to be proficient in the above duties, train others, exhibit leadership on team projects, and consistently contribute innovative ideas or solutions.

Education Description

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction or relevant technical area is required.
    • Will consider at least 10 years of relevant experience for non degree candidates

 

Experience

  • 5 years of relevant work experience required.
  • A Master’s degree in a business, engineering, or construction field may be substituted for one year of experience.

 

Working Conditions

  • Able to support the Emergency Operating Plan.
  • Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle, or private office 
  • Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight
