JOB SUMMARY:

The Agile Coach is a servant leader that provides organized and purposeful coaching and training to members of the platform, product team members, managers, and leaders as they navigate Agile transformations and continuous improvement journeys, adopting a growth mindset. The focus of this coaching role is on supporting all roles within the full platform with an emphasis on implementing best fit scaling patterns. This coaching role will upskill the individuals within the platform and product teams. The Agile Coach will be able to coach up to 5-7 product teams. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as a leader regarding education of all teams within the platform group on utilizing agile principles and scrum, kanban practices, values according to expectations set by the Agile Operations organization
  • Facilitate team ceremonies and assist in removing impediments that obstruct a team’s pursuit of its sprint goals.
  • Help teams inspect, adapt, deliver, and mature.
  • Drive adoption of Agile practices, techniques, and frameworks, reducing the gap between agile theory and practice.
  • Develop standards and requirements for the agile process.
  • Work with other stakeholders and teams to improve the quality of the products.
  • Coach platforms and product teams to adopt successful scaling patterns.
  • Facilitate the implementation of agile processes and ceremonies including road mapping, quarterly planning, innovation and planning events, and facilitate conflict resolution processes, e.g. interpersonal, dependencies, prioritization, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement coaching: Identify areas for improvement in platform and team performance, efficiency, and effectiveness. Work collaboratively with teams to address challenges and remove impediments to continuous improvement and innovation.
  •  Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) to track the progress of agile initiatives, highlighting successes and identifying areas that require further attention.
  • Facilitate and support the organization’s agile transformation efforts by coaching leaders, teams, and individuals in adopting agile methodologies and mindsets.
  • Facilitate the blueprinting, design and activation of platform product teams aligned to value delivery. Support the organization in navigating through the complexities of change, helping them to adapt to an agile culture and mindset.
  • Support Communities of Practice for continuous improvement and adherence to industry best practices
  • Leverage and facilitate scaling practices and methodologies to improve the maturity across groups for organizational success
  • Assess agile maturity (i.e., ability to leverage agile ways of working to increase value delivered to the organization) of group on a regular cadence and coach teams to higher levels of maturity

 

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, Business Administration, or a related area of study from an accredited college or university.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks required.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in Agile coaching for a delivery team actively applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Proven track record of implementing Agile methodologies in various settings.
  • Mastery of Scrum Master & Product Owner Certification preferred
  • SAFE certification preferred
  • Expert problem-solving and conflict resolution background
  • Working knowledge of Agile Tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses
  • Must demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company's values and business practices
  • Experience and understanding of the electric and gas utility operation, or other similar regulated industries, demonstrating an ability to navigate and excel in regulated environments.
