Job Summary:
Supports Engineering design processes that meet construction and installation requirements; includes processing, monitoring, filing/archiving, researching, and reporting  for permits, lane closures, TCP’s (Traffic Control Plan), restoration/paving repairs, along with various other state, city and local permits. Maintain access and permissions for internal and external facing platforms to streamline support processes. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor, administer, and control access to Engineering Support SharePoint sites.
  • Perform basic maintenance and editing of existing Gas Engineering SharePoint sites as needed.
  • Basic troubleshooting of software and systems utilized by the Engineering Support team.
  • Serves as liaison with local government entity permitting authorities.
  • Apply for ROW permits from state and local government entities (cities, counties, rail, and flood control) for gas engineering, construction, and maintenance projects then follow up on requested permits until approved.
  • Submit 48 hr notification of CNPs intent to start construction projects to state DOTs and other entities as required.
  • Coordinate and submit capital expenditure requests for gas engineering projects and distribute approvals/rejections as required.
  • Coordinate pipeline easement encroachments for gas engineering projects.
  • Facilitate the coordination of gas supply company pipeline shutdowns between Gas Supply, with Gas Engineering staff, supply company staff, and Gas Control.
  • Coordinate production of monthly and annual reports for engineering support functions.
  • May be required to assist/augment on lower-level tech responsibilities as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office suite, SAP, and ESRI ArcGIS and Arc Pro software in support of Gas Engineering.
  • Requires some advanced knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced staff to perform duties listed above.
  • Required to participate in emergency operations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as directed in support of Gas Engineering/Operations.

 

Education:  
Requires a High School diploma or GED.

 

Experience:
Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an related engineering or construction discipline conducting similar tasks as outlined in this job description.
