Job Summary

Lead the design, administration, and improvement of broad-based compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, sales compensation, pay structures, job architecture, and governance. Serve as a lead compensation subject matter expert and strategic advisor, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations that support business objectives, market competitiveness, internal equity, compliance, and talent strategy. Independently lead complex compensation projects, including market pricing, job evaluation, survey participation, pay structure analysis, and program design. Provide guidance to less experienced compensation professionals and promote consistent, equitable compensation practices across the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Lead complex broad-based compensation programs and processes, including base pay, annual incentives, sales compensation, pay structures, job architecture, and governance.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend improvements to strengthen consistency, competitiveness, equity, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Lead complex internal and external compensation studies using market-pricing tools, survey sources, and reporting systems to collect, analyze, interpret, and validate data; present findings and influence management decisions through clear, well-supported recommendations.
  • Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Accounting, and other functions on compensation filings, audits, disclosures, and information requests; ensure accurate, timely, and consistent responses.
  • Provide advanced consultation to management and Human Resources on organizational design, job architecture, job leveling, title governance, pay decisions, and compensation implications for complex or sensitive business changes.
  • Evaluate new and revised positions using market pricing, job slotting, internal comparisons, and job architecture methods; maintain pay structures and develop recommendations for complex roles and organizations.
  • Set and monitor data standards, controls, and reporting practices to maintain compensation and job data integrity, including FLSA status, EEO category, job code, and pay-related updates.
  • Interpret compensation trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, pay equity considerations, and compensation-related regulatory requirements, and translate them into practical guidance, process improvements, and compliant program administration.
  • Provide technical guidance, peer review, coaching, and knowledge sharing; serve as an escalation point for complex compensation questions and process issues

Education Description

  • BS/BA Degree required in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance, or other field. Certification from WorldatWork (CCP) is desired.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of compensation experience, including base pay administration, market surveys, job pricing, job evaluation, variable pay design and administration, and regulatory compliance. MarketPay experience preferred.
