Job Summary:
As a Lead Enterprise Compliance Analyst, you will have the unique ability to join a team that is implementing an enterprise wide governance framework and standards to provide oversight over various compliance functions within the organization. The Enterprise Compliance framework will apply to compliance functions within operations as well as various corporate functions. Enterprise Compliance will also own and establish governance and standards for the Enterprise Policy Center.
Essential Functions:
Develop and provide framework and standards to implement an effective Enterprise Policy Management Program
Support business unit leaders throughout the policy development, implementation and the review process
Maintain the Enterprise Policy Center page on the company intranet site
Regularly reviews policy program processes for effectiveness, implements improvements as needed and coordinates formal reviews
Works with policy owners to create communication plans to highlight policy changes
Works with Policy owners to ensure employees are trained on policy (as needed)
Interpret and apply applicable federal and state regulations, agreements, policies and procedures
Understand, and abide by the identified enterprise elements of compliance for the company
Stay current on industry trends and business issues
Work with or may lead task teams, committees or industry projects
Ability to create, analyze and develop reports within various company systems such as SAP to verify compliance during compliance incident investigations
Work with internal analytics teams to develop dashboards to highlight various compliance concerns, issues and trends
Perform internal compliance assessments and investigations addressing compliance stakeholder needs
Engage in the risk methodology process, working closely with subject matter experts to map processes and clearly document objectives, risk to achieving objectives, internal controls, and opportunities for improvement
Assist in developing and preparing employee training materials regarding enterprise compliance
Perform sometimes complex research of various regulations and utility industry practices
Develop industry specific knowledge, skills and a thorough understanding of compliance requirements
Develop documentation including business cases, performance metrics, status reports
Analyze and identify trends in compliance obligation data
Perform root cause analysis for issues/risks related to compliance
Support various legal department initiatives as requested
Create and maintain internal lists sometimes requiring creation of Excel based spreadsheets
May serve as project lead or task force member on medium to large projects and/or issues
Interprets and explains information to audiences who are not familiar with the subject matter, often requiring persuasion
Review and recommend solutions to issues that involve a number of possible alternatives which may not be clearly defined
Exercise discretion on complex problems including providing guidance to other team members and interpreting application of complex to highly complex approaches/policies/procedures
Collaborate with stakeholders including but not limited to Operational compliance, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management and Regulatory

Basic Qualifications:
Able to lead teams to solve significant problems/issues including clarify/interpreting/analyzing complex information and developing recommendations for management consideration
Able to resolve complex issues that require sophisticated analytical or problem-solving techniques to identify cause
Collaborates with management to identify and pursue opportunities for innovation
Able to provide professional input to complex assignments/projects as well as direction to more junior professionals
Able to adapt to change, and sometimes competing priorities
Able to use personal computer software and programs proficiently (e.g., Microsoft office, SAP) experience with other company systems such as mobile data and Iris are a plus
Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Excel, and creating sometimes complex spreadsheets including tasks such as creating pivot tables, and developing formulas
Able to effectively communicate with stakeholders both written and verbal
Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of risk management
Able to prioritize and schedule tasks, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate good organizational skills.
Able to work and participate successfully in a team environment to accomplish assignments.
Able to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel to gather and exchange information, resolve issues, plan activities and meet or exceed objectives.
Able to proactively follow up on action items and outstanding tasks
Able to solve problems and make informed decisions, using knowledge, logic and good judgement
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, risk management, engineering, finance or related field is required. Master’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate, Lean Certification and Project management certificate are all a plus.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in areas such as gas and/or electric operations, safety, SMS, engineering, regulatory, legal, risk management or related fields is required.
Experience in building new processes, procedures and/or functions is a plus.
Specific knowledge in one or more aspects of the utility industry such as operations regulations, operating standards, procedure writing, or process improvement, is a plus.
Experience with data analysis/data analytics is a plus
