Job Summary
Provides leadership, management and guidance in the development, implementation and monitoring of Fleet Capital programs, policies, procedures, initiatives and new technologies. Maintains focus on delivering cost-effective, timely, and strategically aligned fleet acquisition and asset management services to a diverse client base.
Essential Functions:
- Under the direction of the Director of Fleet Services, leads and oversees the performance of personnel within the Fleet Procurement, Disposition, Upfitting, and EV Strategy teams. Responsibilities include performance evaluations, coaching and development, administering discipline when necessary, and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations impacting fleet acquisition and asset management, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable union agreements.
- Develops and executes strategic plans for fleet acquisition, electrification, and upfitting using data-driven insights to align with operational needs and company sustainability goals. Establishes key milestones, staffing models, and measurable KPIs, regularly monitoring performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Leads change initiatives related to fleet asset lifecycle processes and technology, including integration of electrification infrastructure, telematics data for lifecycle planning, and vendor performance tracking.
- Assists in developing and managing the annual capital and O&M budgets related to vehicle acquisition. Proactively monitors expenditures, identifies variances, and recommends corrective actions to maintain financial alignment.
- Provides guidance and oversight on vehicle specifications, standardization, and acquisition planning. Ensures coordination with operational stakeholders, compliance teams, and upfitting specialists to deliver fit-for-purpose fleet assets.
- Sets the standard for customer service and responsiveness to internal clients, ensuring alignment with business needs, while promoting transparency and timely communication on vehicle availability and program status.
- Evaluates, enhances, and implements fleet acquisition and asset lifecycle processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintains collaborative relationships with the Purchasing department, ensuring ethical vendor engagement, contract negotiation support, and adherence to procurement policies and pricing agreements
Education Description:
- Requires a four year Business degree preferred or 15 years of fleet related experience.
Experience:
- Requires a minimum ten years of fleet technical, managerial or other related experience preferred, five year minimum.
