Job Summary

Provide technical support to environmental specialists in executing environmental policies and procedures for company operations and in assuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.

 

Essential Functions

  • Processes Mineral Oil Soil - Makes decisions regarding how to dispose of spill debris based on analytical data and directs the designated waste management contractor accordingly.
  • Researches the location of transformers involved in spills.
  • Coordinates with IT programmers regarding upgrades & designs of the SAP Oil Spill Notification Data Management System and other IT programs as needed.
  • Processes oil spill jobs daily and coordinates with designated oil spill cleanup contractor on daily field assignments.
  • Reviews, analyzes and processes environmental laboratory results.
  • Reviews, corrects & TECO’s oil spill job folders.
  • Communicates with designated oil spill cleanup contractor on folder information and SAP issues.
  • Communicates with outside Environmental Consultants regarding transformer inquiries and prepares appropriate follow-up letters for signature by Environmental Manager.
  • Creates work orders and adds operations to existing work orders for solid waste handling and disposal jobs.
  • Creates and maintains a SharePoint system for storage of waste manifests and quick accessibility in the event of a regulatory inspection.
  • Creates and maintains a spreadsheet for tracking the status oil spill job folders from creation to final close out.
  • Oversees administrative assistant temps during an EOP event.
  • Provides technical assistance to the professional staff as requested.
  • Reviews and approves invoices from vendors.
  • Complete working knowledge of all Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Coupa would be beneficial. 

 

Education Description

  • Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages), punctuation, grammar and spelling. 

 

Experience

  • Requires at least three years of relevant work experience.
