Summary:

CenterPoint Energy is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Head of Data and AI Products to strategically deliver advanced data and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms.  This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of strategic data and AI products, from strategy and development to deployment and maintenance. 

The successful candidate will drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency and provide actional insights across the company by leveraging our data assets and cutting-edge data and AI technologies.  This role reports to CenterPoint’s Chief Data and AI Officer.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish a multi-year strategy for the development and delivery of our strategic data and AI products, aligning with business priorities (e.g., grid resiliency/modernization, customer service, asset performance and operational safety)
  • Define the overall vision for the data ecosystem to support AI platforms and solutions, including ensuring integration of data governance policies and standards and the strategic use of data assets
  • Drive a product-centric mindset across data and technology teams, shifting from project-based delivery to continuous value delivery and product evolution
  • Oversee the product roadmap and portfolio for our data products that includes the evolution of our internal data and AI marketplace and our customer AI suite of capabilities
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of data and AI products and support the maximizing of user adoption and measurable business value in conjunction with our Data Enablement team
  • Champion best practices in MLOps, Data Engineering, and Agile product management to scale capabilities
  • Manage the technical debt and ensure the data architecture is secure, scalable, and compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Build and lead a high-performing team that supports the development of innovative solutions and continuous learning

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related STEM-focused field

 

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology, data science or digital product management
  • Experience in Agile development or product delivery experience
  • Deep understanding of modern data architecture, cloud platforms, DataOps and MLOps principles.  Must have hands-on experience or direct oversight of teams delivering advanced AI/ML models
  • Familiarity with CenterPoint’s data strategy and delivery philosophy
