Job Summary:

Develops and prepares rate and regulatory filings for CenterPoint Energy Regulated Operations relating to the electric utility in Indiana.  Performs research and analysis as requested to support all regulatory activities.  Must be able\willing to take direction from and learn from senior analysts and management. 
    
Essential Functions: 

Assists with the implementation of rate changes and the administration of existing electric rates and tariffs.
Assists with the planning and preparation of required regulatory reports, annual compliance filings, data responses, ordered compliance filings and other similar non-rate case filings. 
Maintains compliance with all applicable requirements concerning rates and tariff related matters.  
Prepares or assists with preparation of regulatory filings, including testimony, schedules, work papers, requests for information and briefs on a timely basis and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.  
Gathers\analyzes financial information and operating statistics and their impacts for the development of regulatory strategies.
Performs ad-hoc analysis as needed to support department activities (Regulatory, Integrated Resource Planning, etc.)
Supports major rate and regulatory projects
Establishes and maintains communications with members of the various CenterPoint departments. 
Works with other departments relative to identifying and researching current issues or trends affecting regulatory environment.  
Attends workshops and conferences to monitor regulatory proceedings to identify trends, issues, or decisions which might affect Company's regulatory objectives.
Develops and maintains relationships with outside groups such as the public utility commission staff, industry associations, and consumer advocacy groups
Analyzes public policy, especially regulatory policy and decisions, for its effect on CNP’s business environment.
Support development of special contract electric rates for current and prospective customers
Performs billing & benchmarking estimates, bill audits, rate verification, and SOX audits & testing
Assists with special studies (i.e. COS) related to rate cases

    
Basic Qualifications:

Education:  
Bachelor’s degree required - Accounting or Finance Preferred

Experience:

Requires a minimum of three (5) years of experience with increasing responsibility for rate and regulatory matters, business administration, finance, accounting, economics, public policy or other related fields.  Advanced skillsets around data compilation, analysis, and Microsoft Excel a plus.
