Job Summary:
This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Gas Capital Delivery, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, Utility Quality and Regulatory groups to meet established business targets. Aid in the development of capital expenditure forecasts, tracking progress by various financial and work order data reports relative to the current plan and implementation of those plans across the organization. This individual supports the development of capital budgets, monitors the implementation of those capital plans/budgets, and reports the business results to senior managment.
Essential Functions:
- Collects and maintains data to support capital project and portfolio tracking, contractual processes, benchmarking studies, and ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
- Use analytical and spreadsheet skills to support benchmarking efforts, cost comparisons, productivity/efficiency studies and any other business unit requests requiring business analysis.
- Provide data and analysis to support infrastructure filings and rate cases.
- Provides support for data requests from various regulatory agencies.
- Supports the efforts to develop short and long term financial forecast updates in a manner consistent with established guidelines and processes.
- Collaborate with other area analysts for consistency with reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop, populate, and report out to stakeholders, relevant performance benchmarks and scorecards.
- Develop various financial forecasts and financial models to assist leadership understanding plan results and to aid decision-making.
- Coordinates efforts to continually improve the timeliness and relevance of financial reporting processes.
- Supports the analytical evaluations and reporting of YTD actual financial performance against historical and budgeted performance, communicates results to organizational stakeholders.
- Collects and organizes data to understand cost structures and determines impact of project scope changes and sourcing decisions.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on the financial systems used by the organization to plan, execute and report out our capital investment performance.
Education Description:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Supply Chain or a relevant business/technical discipline field from an accredited college preferred. Will consider relevant job-related CenterPoint Energy experience for non-degree candidates.
Experience:
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of utility or business experience. SAP reporting/analytics experience required.

Compensation: $91,236.80 to $136,855.20 Annually
CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity. This annual compensation range is specific to Minnesota and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
