As an Associate Control Systems Operations Analyst, you will monitor the Energy Management System (EMS) Real-Time computer systems, Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Real-Time computer systems, data networks, security systems and communication infrastructure. 
 
Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Assess Real-Time equipment failures in Real-Time and coordinate repairs/replacement with appropriate vendors and users.
  • Assess stability conditions of the Real-Time EMS/ADMS computer systems, functions, Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Intelligent Grid (IG) Devices, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and determine the root cause of problems, actuate corrective action unilaterally, if appropriate, or activate additional resources, as necessary.
  • Manage and monitor Control Systems computer networks and physical access systems.
  • Perform computer system audits and administer security policies
  • Serve as the first line of user support for all of the equipment essential to all EMS/ADMS user functions (e.g., Consoles, Routers, Firewalls, Monitors, Application Interfaces, Radio & Telephone system, and Voice recorders.)
  • Coordinate work activities with other user and /or support organizations related to EMS/ADMS interfaces (e.g., Information Systems, Substation Engineering, Substation Operations and Telecommunications, etc.).
  • Perform Real-Time System configuration functions such as system restart/reset (e.g., system performance monitoring, problem resolution/documentation, etc.)
  • Perform/execute first level administration tasks for EMS/ADMS computers and related infrastructure systems.
  • Observe all company safety procedures when performing installation, repair, maintenance, and testing responsibilities.
  • Accept responsibility for participating in long term projects and report activities and results to senior and supervisory personnel.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree.
  • Will consider relevant CNP experience for non-degreed candidates.
  • Able to operate a computer system for extended periods of time.
 
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer/Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.

This position is located in Houston, TX.
